John is the cofounder of Physician Tax Advisors and the founder of McCarthy Tax Preparation. He's a CPA with a background in public accounting and income tax.

A self described “money nerd” John enjoys listening to personal finance podcasts and reading tax code and IRS instructions. When he’s not thinking about CPA stuff, he likes to spend time hiking with his family at the Cincinnati Nature Center and volunteering at the local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), Earth Shares CSA.

She graduated from Salisbury University in Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and continued on at Wilmington University to obtain her Master’s degree in Business Administration. Kelly has worked with physicians for the past 3 years in her role as a supervisor with a local accounting firm before joining the team at Physician Tax Advisors. Her proximity to large Delmarva health systems such as the University of Maryland, Bayhealth and the Christiana Care Health System created unique accounting opportunities with clients in all avenues of medicine.

Kelly enjoys working closely with clients to create lasting relationships that aid in the best client service experience. She is passionate not only about taxes but people as well.

When she is not working you can regularly find Kelly hanging out with her son, Reid, and their new puppy Clarke. But she also may be on the beach with a good book, traveling to a different country or skydiving on a whim!

Are you tired of explaining what a backdoor Roth is to your CPA?

We are closed to clients for this tax year.

The truth is, just about anyone can help you file your tax returns. But what separates us from just about anyone else you'd hire is that we know the unique financial situation of physicians and their families and we take a proactive approach.

Tax Planning

We take a look at everything you have and figure out the best way to minimize your tax bill. Unlike your CPA, we know about backdoor Roth conversions, whether you should file jointly or separately, and the things you can do next year to minimize the amount of taxes you pay.

Tax Preparation

Income taxes are complicated. We study the tax code and keep up with new developments so that you don’t have to. We offer year-round support for our clients and are happy to answer your tax questions throughout the year.

We specialize in physicians

We're physician family owned, which means we know the unique challenges you face, and we have both a personal and a professional interest in helping you decrease your tax bill so you can keep more of the money you make.

Keep more of the money you make

Since we know the tax code so well, we're able to advise you on your best options for keeping more of your money for yourself and your family (instead of giving Uncle Sam more than his fair share).

All of our packages come with a tax projection & tax strategy meeting so you can take a proactive approach.
